The ADTC operates under a national mandate to advance digital inclusion, foster innovation, and strengthen South Africa’s digital capabilities. Our mission and vision articulate the long-term aspirations and strategic priorities that guide our contribution to the country’s digital development agenda.

The Acceleration Centre in South Africa is hosted by the Department of Communications and Digital Technologies (DCDT), the national institution mandated to lead South Africa’s digital transformation to achieve digital inclusion and economic growth. Rooted in the Electronic Communications Act of 2002, DCDT’s mandate encompasses driving digital inclusion, expanding ICT infrastructure, and fostering an enabling environment for innovation and entrepreneurship.
